Manchester United's 1999 Treble winners have been voted as the greatest team of the Premier League era.
United dominated English football following the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. With Sir Alex Ferguson in charge, United would go on to win 13 league titles over the following 21 years.
During that time, the club boasted a number of different teams that have certainly gone down in history as some of the best ever. But it’s the 1999 side that have earned the accolade of being crowned the greatest ever.

To mark the 30th year of the Premier League, Betfair have conducted a survey with YouGov and asked over 1,000 football fans to decide who have been the greatest and unluckiest English top-flight teams since 1992. And the legendary Treble-winning side of '99 has come out on top, winning with 19 per cent of the vote.
Boasting the likes of Peter Schmeichel, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham, the team would go on to immortalise themselves as they won the league title, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season. It was an unprecedented feat that is yet to be replicated by any other side in the subsequent years.
United’s Treble winners take the honour of being voted the greatest ever side ahead of Arsenal’s Invincibles. Arsene Wenger’s side, who went the whole of the 2003/04 campaign unbeaten in the league, share second place with Liverpool’s 2019/20 champions, with both sides taking 15 per cent of the vote.
Manchester City’s centurions of 2017/18 claim fourth with nine per cent, with United’s 2008/09 side – which completed a league and Champions League double – finishing fifth with eight per cent of the vote. Leicester City’s 2015/16 side, who defied the odds to finish as champions, come in just behind them with seven per cent of the vote.
