Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has claimed that rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are both ahead of the Reds in the race for Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham was a star performer for Gareth Southgate on Monday as England kicked off their World Cup campaign with a dominant 6-2 victory over Iran in Al Rayyan. The 19-year-old opened the scoring for the Three Lions with a brilliant flicked header which opened the floodgates in Qatar.
United have previously been interested in Bellingham and even gave him a tour of Carrington before he signed for Borussia Dortmund in 2020. However, as his stock continues to rise at the World Cup, Sheringham believes the Reds are lacking behind their rivals.
