Manchester United have been urged to sell Cristiano Ronaldo for the good of the club this summer.
Ronaldo was expected to return to United training on Monday after being allowed an extra week off due to his involvement in the Nations League with Portugal. However, the weekend prior, it became known that the 37-year-old had requested the club to accept any 'reasonable offers' for him.
At the beginning of this week it emerged that Ronaldo would not be returning to training due to 'family reasons'. On Thursday, MEN Sport reported that the Portuguese ace had been given additional time off to deal with a 'family issue', meaning he would not be travelling with his teammates to Thailand on Friday.

Former Arsenal striker and Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith believes that now is the time to let Ronaldo leave if that is his wish. Speaking to 888, Smith said: "If Ronaldo wants to go then let him go.
"He’s someone who obviously wants to play Champions League football. He has come in at United and done the job for him he was paid to do which is to score goals.
"But [Erik] Ten Hag now obviously wants a clean slate and no distractions. ‘ Ronaldo is not playing this week, he’s on the bench’.
"You don’t know any of that and it’s all a bit of a soap opera really. So if he wants to go then try to get that sorted early doors.
"I’m not sure how efficient they are at Manchester United and they’re in a state of flux with a new manager but Ten Hag will want to get a squad together that he actually wants to work with."
