Manchester United have been told Antonio Conte would be 'perfect' to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent replacement after raising serious doubts over his Tottenham future.
Solskjaer was still in charge at Old Trafford when the north Londoners pulled off a coup to appoint Conte - despite muted suggestions he was being line-up for the United hot-seat.
As it played out, Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham - while Ralf Rangnick was appointed as interim manager when Solskjaer was sacked in November.
Fast forward three months and, while Rangnick has steadied the ship at United, former Chelsea and Inter manager Conte has thrown up question marks over his position.
A masterclass from England captain Harry Kane inspired Tottenham to an eye-catching win vs Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, but defeat to relegation-threatened Burnley followed last night.
Tottenham have lost four of their last five games to slip away from top-four contention, and Conte admitted post-match that things can't continue in the same way.
So does the Italian still have one eye on the United managerial role?
Speaking to radio station talkSPORT, former Premier League and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given said: "My concern is, has he got something else lined up?

"For a manager that's reportedly on £15million a year - which is a massive contract - he looks like he wants to walk away from this, to be honest with you.
"When you come out with comments like that, it looks like he's itching to get away from the place - and then we talked about Man United. I think there's a perfect fit there.
"Maybe, just maybe, someone from the red side of Manchester will be in contact, because it feels like Man United need a character like him that's really strong to sort that dressing room out."
