Manchester United are tracking Trevoh Chalobah but may not meet Chelsea’s £25million valuation of the centre-back.
Chelsea are understood to be prepared to listen to offers for homegrown talent Chalobah this summer, with the 24-year-old already in high demand.
The Blues could look to sell both academy products Chalobah and England midfielder Conor Gallagher, though both Stamford Bridge stars are thought to want to stay put in west London.
United are thought to retain a strong interest in Chalobah though and could make a move in this close season.
The INEOS-backed Red Devils are in the middle of a total overhaul however, and are understood to be open to offers for the bulk of their playing squad.
United are expected to need to raise funds through sales before dipping fully into the summer market, and that could delay any move for Chalobah.
Chelsea are still looking at several quick sales this summer, to add any incoming finances to the Premier League Profit and Sustainability records for 2023/24 that have a June 30 cut-off.
The Blues have long insisted they will have no problems staying within Premier League spending regulations, but may still choose to boost the numbers within the current season deadlines.
Chelsea are not thought to have progressed their long-term interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen at this stage.
The Blues are not thought to be keen on the prohibitive release clause of £113m on the Nigeria striker.
Romelu Lukaku is still expected to leave Chelsea permanently this summer however, with the Blues thought to be ready to strike a deal in the region of £38m.
Napoli are among the suitors keen to recruit the Belgium striker, but there have been no discussions on any swap deal involving Osimhen.
