Manchester United 'target' Adrien Rabiot's mother 'holds talks' and other transfer rumours

Reported Manchester United transfer target Adrien Rabiot's mother is holding talks with Juventus about extending the midfielder's contract with the Serie A club, it has been claimed.

The Reds agreed a fee in principle with the Italian outfit last summer before having to try and negotiate terms with Rabiot's mother, Veronique. The Frenchman's contract at Juve expires at the end of the month, meaning he could be a bargain free transfer for one of Europe's big clubs this summer.

Reports have indicated that United are still tracking the midfielder and could make moves to bring him to Old Trafford. But Calciomercato reports that Juventus are looking to persuade him to stay in Italy.

Rabiot made 32 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. With the futures of Fred and Scott McTominay far from certain at Old Trafford, United could look to pick up another central midfielder this summer alongside another player.

United have agreed personal terms with Mason Mount, but the report adds that the Reds are also "in the front row" for Rabiot with "a concrete offer already on the plate". Elsewhere, the Daily Mail reports that United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby this summer.

The forward has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent times, with Arsenal and Newcastle also tipped to swoop for the Frenchman. Diaby netted 14 goals and provided 11 assists for the German side last season, increasing speculation that Europe's big sides may come calling.

It is claimed that United "have considered an upgrade" on Jadon Sancho for the right-wing, and their search has landed them on Diaby. A fee of £65million may be needed to tempt Diaby to Old Trafford, though.
