Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes welcomed Wout Weghorst to the club after Manchester United announced the signing of the Dutchman on loan until the end of the season.
The Reds confirmed the signing of the 30-year-old striker on Friday evening, with the club paying Burnley £2.6million to secure the services of the player until June. United, who are covering Weghorst's salary in full, do not have an option or obligation to sign the Netherlands international.
Erik ten Hag identified Weghorst as a stop-gap support striker last month, and United were desperate to recruit a frontman following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November. Weghorst scored eight goals in 16 games for former loan side Besiktas, having scored 70 in 144 games for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

Shortly after United announced the signing of the forward on loan, club captain Maguire commented on the club's Instagram post, welcoming Weghorst to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Fernandes - who is expected to captain the Reds against Manchester City in the derby on Saturday afternoon - posted on his personal Instagram story to welcome the player.
Discussing the signing of the Dutch striker, United boss Ten Hag admitted that he needed to add attacking reinforcements, adding that he was delighted to have Weghorst at the club.
"He is a striker and we had an open position there to fill in," Ten Hag told club media. "I think in the balance of the offensive [players], he really fits in. I am really happy and I don't think we had the type what he is.
"Most importantly, he can score goals from everywhere and he was always a surprise at every club in every league. That is also what I expect here. For here, I expect a team player and someone who can link up, a player who will do his defending work and we are really happy to sign him.'"
While Weghorst only managed two goals in 20 matches for Burnley last term, he has tallied a respectable five goals in 19 appearances for the Netherlands.
