Manchester United are still planning to send Alvaro Fernandez out on loan this summer, but he has not yet agreed a deal with any club.
Fernandez, 19, was not included in their pre-season tour squad this summer on the basis that he would train with the U21s before being allowed to leave on a temporary deal.
The young left-back has attracted plenty of interest during the transfer window and has held talks with Championship side Preston about a possible move.
Fernandez was pictured at the club's Deepdale stadium and will also be in attendance to watch their pre-season friendly against Leicester on Saturday afternoon.

The Manchester Evening News understands Ryan Lowe's side have stiff competition for his signature though, with some Premier League sides also showing an interest in his signature.
Club sources have reiterated that Fernandez is only 'assessing one of the options' and that nothing has been signed in regards to an official loan exit. United are keen to send the former Real Madrid youngster out on loan after signing Tyrell Malacia in the summer transfer window.
Earlier in the week, Preston manager Lowe confirmed he had offers in place for two players to join the club on loan.
"I spoke to two players (on Tuesday), we have got proposals out and we're ready to go when they are," Lowe told Lancs Live after Wednesday night's win over Hearts. "I wish it could be quicker but unfortunately it is out of our hands. We have made the contact and are just waiting on them now. It's down to parent clubs; we're working very hard behind the scenes. They are our targets and they are interested in coming to play for Preston North End.
"Hopefully we get some news. I don't want to keep making false promises because it's been a tough window - we've been waiting on players to come back from outside the country. We've got a couple of loans lined up. One is agreed in sort of principle. It's not far away. We need four (players) so we're in discussions with four and the quicker we get them done, the better."
Shola Shoretire was also excluded from the United tour squad this summer on the proviso that he might leave on loan this summer if an appropriate proposal is made. There was also no room for young centre-backs Teden Mengi and Di'Shon Bernard who could both leave the club this summer.
Fernandez was named United's U23 Player of the Year for his performances over the last campaign and was named on the bench for the last four matches under Ralf Rangnick.
