United share price drops amid Ratcliffe interest
Manchester United’s share price fell by 9.5 per cent on Thursday amid reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is the Glazers' preferred takeover bidder.
The stock value on the New York Stock Exchange dropped from $20.30 to $18.37 amid the speculation. The share price has seen a decrease of 19.29 per cent during the calendar year to date, from January 1 (as of Friday morning on May 12).

The Glazers announced that the board was exploring “strategic alternatives for the club” in November with the takeover process commencing. Bidders have been required to pass a number of stages with fans hoping a decision on the sale of the club could be on the horizon.

United announce Madrid friendly during US tour
Manchester United will play European giants Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly during their summer tour of the US in July.
United and Real will meet at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on July 26 as part of the Soccer Champions Tour exhibition series, which features six clubs playing nine matches across 12 days in the United States.
This friendly will pit England's most successful team against Spain's and it isn't the first time they've played each other in America, having last met in front of 109,318 fans at The Big House, Michigan, which remains the largest-ever audience for a football match played on US soil.
