Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has refused to rule out a potential move to Manchester United.
The 38-year-old has been touted as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag after a poor start to the Dutchman's second season in charge.
Despite the fact the former Ajax manager won the Carabao Cup during his maiden campaign, a miserable opening stretch of this season has seen the pressure grow.
Following Wednesday's bleak defeat to Newcastle, United legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville suggested ten Hag was facing the sack.
While the Red Devils boss has vowed to fight on, a loss at Fulham on Saturday would deepen the crisis.
Reports have suggested Amorim, previously considered by Chelsea and Tottenham, is viewed as a potential alternative alongside Zinedine Zidane.
Speaking after his team's win over Farense in Portuguese League Cup on Thursday, Amorim said: "We don’t know the future, it depends on the results.
"It has more to do with the general idea of ââwhat we need as a team, extra pressure so we don’t hide.
"Regarding the future, I have an idea for the end of the season but I won’t say it now. But the results and the context take us to something different.
"I don’t want to be commenting on these things. I have not been contacted by Manchester United."
