Manchester United are reportedly preparing their final offer for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The Reds have been embroiled in a transfer saga with De Jong throughout the summer. In June, United agreed a fee in principle for the midfielder however since then progress has stalled.
It is believed that there is issues concerning wages owed to De Jong by Barcelona which is believed to be worth €17m. However according to Sport, United are willing to make the Dutchman their highest-paid player.
This would mean that De Jong would be earning a whopping £450,000-a-week. Meanwhile, should the deal for De Jong not go through reports suggest that United will try and sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

According to Area Napoli, United could be able to sign Ruiz for £21m. The 26-year-old made 32 appearances in Serie A last season scoring seven goals and four assists.
