Here are your Manchester United evening headlines for Saturday, June 25.
United players report for pre-season medicals
The start of pre-season is just a couple of days away, and while fans are still awaiting some new signings, Erik ten Hag will soon be getting down to work with his new squad. The Dutchman will meet some of United’s big names on Monday as the players begin returning to Carrington.
Those not involved in the recent internationals will be back for the first day of training in two days’ time. The rest will return at a later date, with the majority heading back to work on July 4 ahead of the pre-season tour, which sees United kick-off against Liverpool in Thailand on July 12.

Ahead of the return to training, some United players were back at Carrington on Friday as they completed their pre-season medicals. The likes of David de Gea, Luke Shaw, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are set to be among those reporting back for training on Monday.
McClaren hints at United leadership group
One of the biggest decisions facing Ten Hag this summer is the question of who will be his captain. Current incumbent Harry Maguire has faced numerous calls to hand over the armband following a disappointing season.
There are a number of candidates for the role. Bruno Fernandes has taken the armband on numerous occasions, while Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea have been touted as potential captains.
New assistant manager Steve McClaren has suggested Ten Hag could settle on a leadership group next season. The former England manager has said he intends to identify a group of “cultural architects” to lead the squad next season.
