Manchester United player ratings as Christian Eriksen and Luke Shaw good vs Tottenham

David de Gea

Made a couple of routine but important saves with United 1-0 up, the second just seconds before United went 2-0 up. 7

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Confident on the ball again and a regular outlet in the final third during United's dominant spells. Came under the cosh after the interval. 6

Victor Lindelof

Solid again next to Luke Shaw in their unlikely partnership but fortunate not to be sent off for a foul on Heung-min Son when he had been booked. 7

Luke Shaw

Started his eighth game in a defensive duo and United remain unbeaten. Shaw's reading of the danger was nigh-on faultless. 8

Diogo Dalot

Continued at left-back and had little hassle from Pedro Porro. Switched to right-back in the second half when Tyrell Malacia emerged. Off the pace when Son scored. 6

Casemiro

An invaluable pivot who broke up attacks and he played an underrated role in the second goal. Could have scored late on. 6

Christian Eriksen

Warmly welcomed back at Tottenham, Eriksen was often in vintage form and Spurs struggled to lay a glove on him. Unfortunate to come off after an hour. 7

Antony

Bright and enjoyed his alliance with Wan-Bissaka again in the first half but did little in the second once Spurs came into the contest. 6

Bruno Fernandes

Recovered from an ankle knock to produce a virtuoso performance as United's chief creator. Missed a glaring chance when he smacked the crossbar. 7

Jadon Sancho

Had to show up from the start and took all of seven minutes, scoring stylishly to put United ahead. Probably his best performance of the season. 7

Marcus Rashford

Led the line impressively before he scored and his goal highlighted the variations he has added to his game. His switch to the wing to accommodate Anthony Martial was ill-advised. 7

Subs

Fred

The right substitute for the wrong player. 5

Anthony Martial

Off the pace. 4

Tyrell Malacia

So gettable again and it led to Tottenham's equaliser. 4

Wout Weghorst

All commitment, no quality. 5

Manager

Dropping Martial for Sancho and relocating Rashford worked to great effect as United were more dynamic in attack. But his substitutions were a disaster again. 5
