Manchester United player ratings vs Sevilla as Anthony Martial and Marcel Sabitzer good

David de Gea

Had next to nothing to do against a tepid Sevilla attack but then Sevilla got a goal back denying a third consecutive clean sheet for the United No.1. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Another positive performance from a right-back who is now edging his duel with Diogo Dalot. Wan-Bissaka continues to thrive in his unlikely alliance with Antony. 7

Raphael Varane

Did next to nothing wrong in his 45 minutes before he came off after going down injured towards the end of the half. 7

Lisandro Martinez

Played with a different centre-back in each half and his performance level was still consistently high. Positioned himself masterfully. 7

Tyrell Malacia

An improvement on his weekend performance but his dismal defending made a contest of a tie that United were coasting in. 5

Casemiro

His presence alone improved United even though he was loose with the ball at times. In the wars on a couple of occasions. 6

Bruno Fernandes

Got the ball rolling with the assist for Marcel Sabitzer's first goal as he excelled again from deep. Ridiculously booked for handball and suspended for the second leg. 7

Antony

His quietly good form continues. Drew multiple markers in attacks and really unfortunate with an effort that smacked the crossbar. 7

Marcel Sabitzer

In the right place at the right time for his deflected first goal and required no assistance for his second. Another fine performance. 8

Jadon Sancho

Would have had a goal had Antony released him slightly quicker. Bright in the first half but faded in the second and made way on the hour. 6

Anthony Martial

His assist for Sabitzer's second goal was one of his best pieces of play in a United shirt. His first start in almost three months and he didn't disappoint. 8

Subs

Harry Maguire

Another confident performance until the ball lucklessly bounced in off him for the equaliser. 6

Christian Eriksen

Continued to ease his way back into the team. 6

Anthony Elanga

Got on the ball but did little with it. 5

Wout Weghorst

The workhorse Weghorst impressed with his pressing. 6

Facundo Pellistri

Had another impact as a sub. 7

Manager

Got it right by keeping Fernandes and Sabitzer in their roles but the triple change on the hour reduced United's goal threat and set a strange tone at 2-0. 5
