Manchester United next six Premier League fixtures compared with Newcastle, Liverpool and rivals

Manchester United squandered a 2-0 lead to draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night

Erik ten Hag's side scored twice in the opening 45 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford both on target. However, Spurs were much improved in the second half and managed to draw level thanks to Pedro Porro and Heung-min Son.

The Reds have a game in hand over Eddie Howe's side. They can increase the gap between themselves and Aston Villa when the two sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

As the race to secure Champions League qualification for next season continues to intensify, MEN Sport has taken a close look at United's next six fixtures and compared them with those of their rivals.

Manchester United - 4th (60pts)

  • Aston Villa (H) - April 30
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (A) - May 4
  • West Ham United (A) - May 7
  • Wolves (H) - May 13
  • Bournemouth (A) - May 20
  • Chelsea (H) - May 25

Verdict: The Reds have got a number of difficult matches to come in the next few weeks, starting at home to Villa at the weekend. Unai Emery's side have been in electric form recently and will arrive at Old Trafford full of confidence. Following that game, Ten Hag's side have two difficult away matches at Brighton and West Ham. Should United manage to take seven points from those three fixtures, that would probably be a good return.

With Wolves having moved away from the drop zone, United will fancy themselves to overcome the Midlands outfit at home, and the same can be said for the away clash with Bournemouth. Although Chelsea have been in poor form in recent weeks, they are likely to give the Reds a decent game at Old Trafford.

Newcastle United - 3rd (62pts)

  • Southampton (H) - April 30
  • Arsenal (H) - May 7
  • Leeds United (A) - May 13
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (H) - May 18
  • Leicester City (H) - May 22
  • Chelsea (A) - May 28

Tottenham Hotspur - 5th (54pts)

  • Liverpool (A) - April 30
  • Crystal Palace (H) - May 6
  • Aston Villa (A) - May 13
  • Brentford (H) - May 20
  • Leeds United (A) - May 28

Aston Villa - 6th (54pts)

  • Manchester United (A) - April 30
  • Wolves (A) - May 6
  • Tottenham Hotspur (H) - May 13

  • Brighton & Hove Albion (H) - May 28
