Manchester United have held initial talks with Fiorentina regarding the potential sale of Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports.
The Manchester Evening News understands that United would be open to bringing a second midfielder through the door this summer, following the £60million signing of Mason Mount. The 24-year-old signed a five-year contract last week and will likely feature against Leeds United in Oslo.
Erik ten Hag is now focused on filling the two major gaps in his squad, with a first-choice goalkeeper and world-class No.9 top of his summer shopping list. But further midfield reinforcements are being explored and Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that contact has been made with Fiorentina regarding their Moroccan midfielder.
