Manchester United loanee scores wonder goal as duo step closer to Premier League promotion

It was another mixed bag for Manchester United's loanees over the weekend as eight players got minutes for their temporary clubs, with varying degrees of success.

Young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop arguably enjoyed the best weekend of them all as he kept a crucial clean sheet in Mansfield's vital 2-0 win over Crawley. Victory lifted the Stags up to sixth in the League Two table, just four points off an automatic promotion place and with a game in hand on third-place Northampton.

He is not the only United youngster dreaming of promotion this season, with James Garner and Ethan Laird both fighting for a spot in the Premier League next season.

Garner impressed once again as Nottingham Forest defeated Peterborough 1-0 to move fourth in the Championship, five points behind second-place Bournemouth, whom Laird plays for. The young right-back played the entirety of their 1-1 draw with already-promoted Fulham as Dominic Solanke rescued a point with a penalty in the eighth minute of added time.

Dylan Levitt enjoyed the individual highlight of the week with a stunning solo goal as Dundee United lost 3-2 to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. The Wales international opened the scoring after just four minutes with a dazzling dribble into the box, though his side would eventually drop points.

Elsewhere, Matej Kovar played the full 90 minutes for Burton as they lost 2-0 to Doncaster Rovers. Amad started for Rangers in their 3-1 win away at Motherwell but was replaced after 28 minutes as part of a tactical change when defender Leon Balogun was sent off.

Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Ethan Galbraith and Di'Shon Bernard were all unused substitutes for their respective clubs, while Andreas Pereira came off the bench in Flamengo's defeat to Athletico Paranaense.
