Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati ahead of a potential summer plunge. But the Spanish club are said to be in no mood to entertain an exit for the 20-year-old, who still has four years left on his deal with the possibility of a further two should his extension clause be triggered.
The Spain international was seen as the next rising global superstar when he made his first-team breakthrough in 2020 but persistent knee problems have hampered his progression.
He’s played 30 times this season already but just has started just nine of those games. He’s still managed to grab six goals and three assists but has completed a full match just twice all season.

Nevertheless, Sport claims United have penned their interest and have expressed their eagerness to pounce if the exit door creaks open at all for the attacker. Other English clubs have been linked, with Fati - who has a €1bn release clause - becoming increasingly unsettled, it says.
United lead the way for his signature and hope that Barcelona’s cash-strapped status may force them to offload the World Cup star. Fati could feature against the Reds in Barcelona's Europa League knockout clash.
Meanwhile, German outlet Sport 1 says Benjamin Pavard decided he wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer and United could be his next destination.
The Reds are likely to search for right-back competition for Diogo Dalot in the summer although Pavard has revealed that he attains a desire to move into central defence more often. The 26-year-old, the Sun adds, could be available for around £27m with less than 18 months left on his deal.
Chelsea and Barcelona are also keeping an eye on the situation, with the player reportedly most keen on a switch to the Nou Camp. 2018 World Cup winner Pavard has played 14 Bayern games at right-back this season as well as ten as the centre-back, coming up with four goals.
