Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane says Liverpool's Steven Gerrard was a better player than Paul Scholes.
Keane lined up alongside Scholes for many years at Old Trafford, winning several league titles in the process. But during Sport Bible's Agree to Disagree, the former central midfielder appeared to be won over by Jamie Carragher's argument that Gerrard was a better player.
In a discussion ahead of United's trip to Anfield on Tuesday night, Carragher explained: "The way I always think about it like this, if you took Scholes out of the United team and put Stevie in, would United have won more or less? And if you put Stevie out of our team and put Scholes in would we have won what we did?

"I just think of what Stevie did in that Champions League final or the FA Cup final in 2006 and I am not sure that Scholesy or Frank [Lampard] would have that impact."
Keane responded surprisingly: "Yes I agree. I agree but I think it is just down to the fact of loyalty."
"We are [supposed to be arguing] but I think you are winning this one because I just think that Stevie was brilliant, I thought Lampard was brilliant but it is just with Scholesy and the few games I played with him..." he added. "I always loved a player who could get a goal."
"He [Gerrard] was brilliant, but," Keane laughed. "Oh he was, Jesus you will have me crying in a minute."
At the end of the discussion Carragher moved Keane's glass to agree signifying that Keane had agreed with the statement that Gerrard was better than Scholes. Victory for United tomorrow at Anfield would move them level on points with Tottenham in fourth as they look to secure Champions League football next season.
