Manchester United injury update: Luke Shaw, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund latest news and return dates

A number of injury blows have lengthened Manchester United's already-considerable absentee list during the international break.

England forward Marcus Rashford was the latest to pick up a knock while playing for his country after Andre Onana was struck down on Cameroon duty.

Denmark duo Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen are also carrying issues after Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans were previously ruled out of this month's games.

United face Everton this coming weekend and will continue to miss long-term injured players Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, however, should be fit.

Here is your latest update of Man United injury news and return dates...

Luke Shaw

It has been almost three months since Shaw suffered a muscle injury but he is now back in training and could feature against Everton.

Potential return date: November 25, vs Everton

Andre Onana

Cameroon sent goalkeeper Onana home from their national team camp after he picked up an injury in their World Cup qualifying win over Mauritius.

Initial thoughts that he had suffered a muscle strain have been calmed and reports now suggest he is confident of facing Everton on Sunday. United will assess Onana in the coming days.

Potential return date: November 26, vs Everton

Rasmus Hojlund

One player set to miss the weekend's trip to Goodison Park is Hojlund, after he suffered a muscle strain in the win over Luton.

United stated at the time that a return in early December is the young striker's target, which would mean two games out as the Red Devils travel to Galatasaray next week.

Christian Eriksen

A month on the sidelines awaits Eriksen after he suffered a knee injury in that same game with Luton.

Also ruled out of Denmark duty as a result, he will aim to be back before Christmas.

Potential return date: December 17, vs Liverpool

Casemiro

A hamstring injury will keep Casemiro out of action this weekend, and beyond, after he pulled up in United's Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle earlier this month.

The club initially ruled the Brazilian out for "several weeks" and it is now thought he will not return until 2024.

Jonny Evans

Veteran defender Evans has added a steady presence in the United backline since his surprise return in the summer but even he has been unable to avoid the club's injury woe.

The 35-year-old picked up a thigh strain during the chaotic Champions League defeat to Copenhagen to rule him out for "the next few weeks".

Potential return date: December 6, vs Chelsea

Marcus Rashford

There were fears around Rashford when he limped out of England's win over Malta on Friday night following a collision with team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gareth Southgate later labelled the United winger as "okay" and he was pictured in training for the Three Lions ahead of Monday's game in North Macedonia.

He then came on as a late substitute in the 1-1 draw in Skopje, confirming he is indeed fit.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

It has been a far-from straightforward season for Wan-Bissaka, who has had to contend with multiple fitness issues while his team have struggled to fill their defence.

Illness kept him out of the win over Luton and he is likely to be back for Everton.

Potential return date: November 26, vs Everton

Amad Diallo

Young winger Amad required surgery on a knee injury picked up over pre-season, meaning he is still yet to play this campaign.

However he has returned to some form of training, which he regularly posts about on social media to hint that a return is close.

Potential return date: December 2023

Tyrell Malacia

Malacia also underwent knee surgery in the summer after United initially hoped to avoid putting him under the knife before conceding it was necessary, according to reports.

There is hope he will play again in 2023 after continuing to step up his return.
