Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Fabian Ruiz this summer.
Whilst Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona remains the priority target for manager Erik ten Hag, the club are also reportedly looking at other options in case the deal does not go through.
Calcio Napoli 24 suggest United have made contact with the player and Napoli are 'irritated' with the Spanish midfielder as they believe he is trying to orchestrate a move away from the club. Ruiz, 26, is valued at around €45million.

Ruiz has long been linked with a move away from the club, with Liverpool and Arsenal previously said to have been interested in the Spaniard. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has recently admitted that De Jong could still join United, although he deemed it unlikely.
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in bringing United defender Eric Bailly to Roma.
Bailly has been out of the picture at Old Trafford for some time and Ten Hag has made the decision to transfer list the Ivorian. According to The Athletic, Mourinho would be keen on reuniting with the centre-back in Italy.
United have signed Lisandro Martinez this summer, pushing Bailly even further down the pecking order.
