Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has won the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Glove award.
The Spaniard was already guaranteed to win the prestigious accolade after keeping his 16th clean sheet of the season in United's 2-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford last Saturday, but it was still possible that he would have to share it with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
But after Liverpool conceded a 27th-minute opener against Aston Villa at Anfield this afternoon, it ended the Brazilian's hopes of catching De Gea and possibly sharing the accolade with him. Even if Liverpool had kept a clean sheet this afternoon, Alisson would have still had to rely on United failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last three matches to stand any chance of winning it.

After facing Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon, United have back-to-back home games to finish their Premier League campaign, facing both Chelsea and Fulham. The former visit Old Trafford on Thursday before Fulham travel to M16 on the final day of the campaign next Sunday.
Despite his struggles with the ball at his feet, De Gea has played a key role in United's resurrection under Erik ten Hag this season, joining forces with the back-four in front of him to contribute to a much-improved defensive line. Despite the odd capitulation this term, the Reds, generally, have been much better from a defensive point of view.
De Gea, who is expected to sign a new contract at United this summer, has won the Golden Glove award once before, scooping it at the end of the 2017/18 campaign after racking up a tally of 18 clean sheets. At the time of publication, he needs two more shutouts this season to match that tally.
