Andre Onana would prefer a move to Manchester United over Chelsea, according to reports.
The Inter Milan goalkeeper has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer with several clubs looking for a new goalkeeper. Chelsea, United and Tottenham Hotspur could all sign new number ones.
United are in talks with David de Gea over a contract extension but there remain doubts over his status as first-choice goalkeeper. Erik ten Hag may be forced to retain De Gea in goal, though, depending on his transfer budget.
According to The Guardian, United and Chelsea have approached Inter Milan over a deal for Onana this summer. They claim that the Cameroon international favours a move to Old Trafford if given the choice.
Elsewhere, United have been linked with a shock move for Leeds United defender Robin Koch. The German is not expected to play next season for the Whites after their relegation to the second tier of English football.
Koch has made 73 appearances for Leeds since joining for £13 million in the summer of 2020, but an unexpected move to Old Trafford could be on the cards for the defender. The 26-year-old is an established German international, who has represented ‘Die Mannschaft’ on eight occasions since his debut in 2019.
According to Sky Germany, United could be looking at a move for Koch. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany tweeted: “#Koch He‘s on the shortlist of ManUtd! Loose talks took place. Confirmed. #MUFC”.
Koch is out of contract at Leeds next summer, making the current transfer window an ideal time for the club to cash in. Dan James was the last player to make the move from United to Leeds or vice versa.
