A growing number of Manchester United supporters would like to see the club make a move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson this forthcoming summer.
The 18-year-old, who is already a senior international for the Republic of Ireland, has burst onto the scene at the Amex Stadium this season, scoring seven goals and grabbing three assists in just 16 matches. He continued his promising run of form by scoring a second-half brace during Brighton's 5-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Grimsby Town on Sunday, helping book a semi-final showdown with United at Wembley next month.
Ferguson, who recently admitted that he grew up as a United supporter and used to watch current teammate Danny Welbeck, is widely considered as one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League. He has been a regular fixture in Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi's plans since the campaign restarted on Boxing Day following the World Cup.

Continuing to make impressive strides at a rapid rate of knots on the South Coast, it is no surprise that the youngster is already being linked with a move to one of the Premier League's elite-level clubs. The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are among those to have been credited with interest in his signature.
Addressing the youngster's development after the win over Grimsby, De Zerbi, speaking to The Argus, said: "Ferguson is a special striker. I'm working, and my staff are working, to improve him to become not only a number nine, not only a striker, but in terms of understanding the play, to receive the ball or to attack the space and not only one thing. To complete the player, to complete the guy."
Unsurprisingly, Ferguson's previous comments about being a United supporter have meant that several Reds fans now want to see the Old Trafford outfit throw their name into the ring in the quest for his signature. United have plans to sign an elite-level striker this summer, but some fans believe Ferguson would be a suitable understudy, acting as a back-up option.
