Manchester United supporters waxed lyrical about Aaron Wan-Bissaka after he provided a classy assist for Christian Eriksen to open the scoring against Burnley in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
After watching Burnley dominate possession for much of the first half, albeit without giving goalkeeper Martin Dubravka too much to think about, United got their noses in front with 27 minutes on the clock, courtesy of Eriksen's second goal in as many games. The Dane was in the right place at the right time to turn the ball home from close range.
He connected with Wan-Bissaka's excellent cut-back from inside the penalty area. The right-back, who was making his first competitive start since Erik ten Hag was appointed as manager during the summer, latched onto Bruno Fernandes' excellent pass out wide and, on the stretch, turned it back into the mixer for Eriksen to have the simplest of tasks, firing home from inside the six-yard box.
