Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro nominated for Ballon d'Or

Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro both feature on the 30-man shortlist for this year's Ballon d'Or award.

The former Real Madrid paid have both been ranked among the world's best footballers for their impressive performances last season. Casemiro won the Champions League last term ahead of his summer move to Old Trafford, the fifth time he's been crowned a European champion.

Ronaldo also makes the list after his stunning return to United last season saw him notch 24 goals for the Reds in all competitions. The Portugal international will be looking to win a staggering sixth Ballon d'Or when the winner is announced.

Despite not being regulars in Erik ten Hag's starting XI this season, Casemiro and Ronaldo have shown signs of rekindling the relationship they developed at Real over the past few weeks. The pair combined for the winning goal against Everton at Goodison Park recently, as Casemiro teed up Ronaldo to score the 700th goal of his club career.

From 3pm on Monday, the rankings of the top 30 Ballon d'Or nominees will slowly be released, until the official gala when the winner will be announced. The 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony, held in Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, will begin at 7:30pm on Monday, October 17, where the top three will be revealed.
