Manchester United could be set to add an eighth fixture to their already busy schedule should neither themselves or Leeds United draw in the FA Cup fourth round.
Should the Reds settle their tie with Reading at Old Trafford and Leeds United beat or lose to Accrington Stanley or Boreham Wood earlier that day, the two fierce rivals will face up against each other in the Premier League on Wednesday, February 8 at 8pm. It would mean two Premier League fixtures against Leeds in just four days with the trip to Elland Road already scheduled for Sunday, February 12.
But if either side were to draw their cup ties, that midweek would be reserved for a fourth-round replay.
