Manchester United 'considering' move for Ismaila Sarr and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly 'considering' a move to sign Watford's Ismaila Sarr this transfer window.

According to 90min, Erik ten Hag's side are now interested in signing the 24-year-old winger who scored a wonder goal from inside his own half during the club's Championship match on Monday. Sarr was also on the scoresheet for Watford last season when they beat United 4-1 in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's last game in charge of the club.

Now it seems that Sarr might be putting the ball in the back of the net for United as the club looks elsewhere following the decision to withdraw their interest in signing Marko Arnautovic – partly due to the backlash from supporters. The Reds were believed to be interested in signing the Watford player in the summer of 2020, before a £40million price-tag made them look elsewhere – but the Hornets' relegation last season should now make a potential deal far more economical for United.

Elsewhere, ESPN report that United have 'registered their interest' in PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.

It is believed that Gakpo would be keen to make the move to Old Trafford if the two clubs can agree a fee for the 23-year-old player – and United may have a familiar face that can help with negotiations. Ruud van Nistelrooy is the Dutch club's current manager and will have the final say in whether the winger is allowed to leave PSV this summer.

Gakpo was in scintillating form for the Eredivisie side last season as he scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in 27 league appearances. Ten Hag has made no secret that he wants to strengthen his attacking options this transfer window and he may have just found his man, but time is running out for the Dutchman as the September 1 transfer deadline slowly creeps into view.
