A visit to Anfield is not an assignment Erik ten Hag and his players will be particularly relishing after they fell to a shock 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth, swiftly erasing any momentum picked up after a midweek win over Chelsea.
Dominic Solanke opened the scoring inside five minutes and United proved unable to get themselves back into the match at Old Trafford, instead suffering further misery in the second-half as Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi both found the back of the net with headers.

That show of dissent earned him a fifth Premier League booking of the season and means he is now suspended for United's next match, against Liverpool on December 17. Fernandes will still be available when United host Bayern Munich in their final Champions League group-stage match on Tuesday night.
The 29-year-old was shown three yellow cards in the first five League games this campaign, but has largely kept his discipline since then. A fourth came at home to Manchester City in October, leaving him one off a suspension since then, but the threshold has now been met.
Next weekend's clash at Anfield will be United's first meeting with Liverpool since they were hammered 7-0 at Anfield last season.
