Table topping Manchester United will hope to take advantage of rivals Chelsea facing a hectic fixture list when the Women's Super League resumes.
United claimed top spot in the WSL ahead of a break for international football with a gritty 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Marc Skinner's side are a point clear of defending champions Chelsea ahead of a crunch meeting between the two next month.
United’s unbeaten start to the season was emphatically ended by Chelsea in November as they fell to a 3-1 defeat in front of a then-club record crowd. That emphasised the challenge Chelsea will pose this season but United will be buoyed by their lofty league position and the tricky run of fixtures facing the defending champions.

Before facing United, the Blues face Arsenal in the FA Women’s Cup fifth round and then again in the FA WSL Cup final. It's a testing double header and could put United in a potentially favourable position to capitalise on what might be a depleted or exhausted Chelsea squad.
United's next two games are against third tier Durham in the FA Women's Cup before a match against bottom of the table Leicester City in the league.
