A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman in her 60s after she was found dead in a house in Burnage, south Manchester. Emergency services were called to Ivylea Road, around four miles from the city centre, at about 8am on 8 July following reports of an assault inside the property.
Paramedics attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team opened a murder investigation and the teenager was taken into custody.
