Manchester's lost amusement arcade cafe sold 'the best' sandwiches and toasties with coleslaw 'to die for'

A lost café cum amusement arcade in a now demolished area of Manchester is remembered for its incredible sandwiches and coleslaw.

Hazels was a coffee shop and amusement arcade located in the old Shambles Square in Manchester city centre. The venture opened in 1980, in the concrete square that was the old Shambles.

The square was built in the 1970s as part of the construction of the Arndale, taking its name from the butchers and abattoirs that once stood there. The blood and guts left over from the slaughter and butchering being known as 'shambles'.
