Man City XI vs Sporting: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League today

Jack Grealish has not travelled with the Manchester City squad to Lisbon for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Sporting.

Grealish missed Saturday’s 4-0 win over Norwich with a shin injury and Pep Guardiola has confirmed City will be without the midfielder in Portugal.

“He is better but for tomorrow he is not available, along with Cole Palmer and Gabriel (Jesus),” said Guardiola.

Jesus has been out since suffering a knock while on international duty with Brazil last month, while 19-year-old Palmer is still missing due to a foot injury.

Kyle Walker is suspended so will not feature.

Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo were all rested for the win at Norwich but all return to the team against Sporting.

Raheem Sterling gets another start after his hat-trick against Norwich.

Guardiola, whose side are nine points clear in the Premier League, says spirits are very high in the City camp.

He said: "The harmony right now, this season, is exceptional, for many reasons. We know each other perfectly well and accept the good things and the bad things. Everyone has desire to play and fight."

Manchester City starting XI: Ederson, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling.
