Jack Grealish has acknowledged Alex Scott's potential in three words by describing him as a "top, top talent."
Having earned his own 'Guernsey Grealish' nickname, the Manchester City midfielder was responding to Scott's post-match interview after starring on the big stage despite Bristol City's FA Cup defeat.
In the build-up to the game, Scott spoke about how he has modelled his game on the £100million midfielder and has drawn comparisons to the England international by the way he glides past players, his flair on the ball and even the way he wears his socks.
Speaking to ITV Sport after Tuesday's FA Cup tie, Scott stated his own lofty ambitions fuelled by watching the former Aston Villa man. He said: "For me, my favourite player is Grealish. For him to come on and to play against him is a bit of a dream come true for me.
"Obviously that's the level I want to be at. Obviously watching De Bruyne, Foden and Grealish growing up, to be on the same pitch as them in real life was a special feeling and that's where I want to be in the future.
"I'm 19 now and still have years ahead but playing against players like that and seeing that life in the flesh shows you the level you need to be at to play at the top."
Scott's performance has earned praise from all quarters with Man City manager Pep Guardiola labelling him an "unbelievable talent." ITV pundit Roy Keane also drew comparisons between Scott and Grealish by saying: "This is a great opportunity for him, he is almost in the shop window tonight.
"I have seen him play a lot of times and he is a top footballer. We highlighted him before the game, and you can see that he has a Jack Grealish about his play. He has been brilliant to watch."
Grealish's comments have only further raised the profile of Scott who continues to prove the source of Premier League transfer speculation. West Ham were linked with the midfielder earlier today, just days after Newcastle were suggested to have joined the race.
City had initially valued the 19-year-old at £25million in the wake of January interest from Wolves but that figure could continue to rise heading into the summer. The more demand for his signature, the higher his transfer fee while City also have the added security over his contract that expires in the summer of 2025.
The Robins won't command the £100m transfer fee Man City paid Villa for Grealish back in the summer of 2021 when he left the Midlands side with over 200 appearances under his belt. Although there's no reason why Scott can't go on and emulate the success his counterpart has achieved so far if his rate of progression continues on the same trajectory.
