Manchester City 'hatch £200million plan' to bring in Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips

Manchester City could raise more than £200million in player sales this summer as the club look to land Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The Premier League champions have already signed Leeds-born Erling Haaland for £65million and are set to turn their eyes to Elland Road in a bid to rejuvenate the squad ahead of another Champions League push.

The 26-year-old is seen by Pep Guardiola as a successor to the departing Fernandinho but could cost as much as £60million, with Leeds looking unlikely to budge on either him or Brazilian winger Raphinha - who is the subject of major Barcelona interest. And with a big outlay of incomings likely at the Etihad, several key players from the last few seasons could be on their way out.

The Telegraph reported that more than £200million could be raised through sales, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus potentially leaving for combined £110million, while fringe players such as Pedro Porro, Gavin Bazunu, Yangel Herrera and Morgan Rogers could bump the total incoming up to the £200million mark.
