A new bus gate has been installed on Bridge Street in Manchester city centre.
Cameras will enforce the new bus gate, which only allows buses and other approved vehicles to travel through. Bus gates have also been installed in Piccadilly Gardens and Oxford Road to improve journey times for passengers.
The council has not yet set a date for when the bus gate will become operational. However, it has promised commuters that more information will be coming in the next few weeks.

A spokesperson for Manchester City Council said: "As part of the Council's ambition to make it easier for people to access and use public transport in the city centre a bus lane camera has been installed in Bridge Street. A date for when the camera goes live has not yet been set, but this information will be made public in the coming weeks."
Photos of the bus gate’ show signage outside the People’s History Museum, on the border with Salford. The route is a popular one with commuters, who use Bridge Street to access Chapel Street in Salford, just over the Irwell.
That leads to queuing and delays on both Bridge Street and Chapel Street at rush hour.
