Manchester Cathedral is set to host a huge rave, it’s been confirmed. The Manchester 360º event - so called for their placing of the live acts and DJs at the centre of the venue - will be heading to the grade one listed building on February 10.
Heading the bill will be house outfit The Shapeshifters, of Lola’s Theme and Back To Basics fame. The events promise ‘mesmerising light shows and a state-of-the-art sound system’ installed into the cathedral, which has its origins in the 13th century.
The Shapeshifters, aka producer Simon Marlin, smashed their way to number one in the singles chart in 2004 with Ibiza anthem Lola’s Theme after signing to Defected Records, before going on to work with the likes of George Michael and Chic legend Nile Rodgers.

They’ll be joined on the line up by Defected Records cohort Kirollus, and Manchester DJ collective Supernature Disco, aka BB, Richie V, James Greenwood and Rob Jones.
360º events have previously taken place in Edinburgh and Liverpool, as well as Manchester. The last 360º party in Manchester took over the Victoria Baths last November, with the likes of Darius Syrossian and Dimitri From Paris.
Organisers also hosted veteran DJ Jon Digweed at the Cathedral in June last year. Tickets for this year’s event start at £15, and are available here…
