Manchester-bound TUI flight is diverted to Frankfurt after passenger falls ill

A Manchester bound flight has been diverted to Germany after a passenger fell ill. The TUI flight from Dalaman in Turkey which was due to land at Manchester Airport has instead been rerouted to Frankfurt.

The plane left Turkey at 1.20pm and was due to land in Manchester at 3.50pm. A spokesperson for TUI said: "Flight TOM709 Dalaman to Manchester is diverting to Frankfurt, Germany due to a passenger falling ill on board. We cannot provide any more information at this time."

Manchester Airport have also been contacted for comment. It comes as disruption is expected to affect passengers as people seek to make the most out of the extended bank holiday and half term break.

More than 30,000 TUI passengers due to fly from Manchester Airport over the next month were told their flights were being cancelled to tackle staff shortages and ‘ongoing disruption’.
