Manchester Airport issued a warning this evening as "staffing challenges" affected services on the "busiest weekend" of the Christmas period.
The airport said that due to "significant" staffing shortages faced by Swissport, an aviation company operating out of Manchester, passengers might experience delays in disembarking from their aircraft. They also said passengers may experience disruption at baggage collection due to the shortages.
The airport mobilised a support team to "keep disruption to a minimum" and said they were seeking "urgent clarification" from Swissport, which provides airport ground, lounge hospitality and cargo handling services. The airport gave their "sincere apologies" to any affected passengers.
