Manchester Airport passengers urged to 'avoid it like the plague' over huge queues

Long queues and baggage issues have again been reported at Manchester Airport with travellers branding the situation "absolute and complete chaos".

Frustrated passengers took to social media, with one describing their experience in the airport as "hell on earth". Huge queues, at both check-in desks and security, and long waits for luggage in arrivals were just some of the problems reported.

One airport user, Martin Daniels, tweeted a picture of a queue for check-in and said he didn't "think he would make his flight". Another, Bryan Elwick, posted a video of a crowded check-in hall and said the queue 'was almost down to the railway station", the Manchester Evening News reported.
