Manchester Airport named Britain's 'worst airport' by frustrated holidaymakers

A consumer watchdog has named Manchester Airport as the worst in Britain. The three terminals at the North's gateway to the world scored low for customer satisfaction while terminal 3 scored just 38 out of 100

Frustrated holidaymakers awarded the airport just one star out of five for the queues at security gates, prices in shops and seating. They also criticised the range of retailers available in the terminals. Terminal 1 scored just 41 and Terminal 2 was given 47 in a survey of 7,500 travellers reports The Mirror.

Visitors blasted the airport for being 'chaotic', 'heaving' and stated it was 'an end-to-end shambles' in the Which? consumer survey. Manchester Airport was forced to apologise to customers after it faced challenges as the travel industry bounced back after Covid restrictions and lockdown.

Other airports on the list included Doncaster Sheffield which scored 85 and was given five stars out of six across ten different categories. However, despite this, the airport appears set to close soon.

In second place, Exeter and Liverpool John Lennon airports scored 83 each. London City and Southhampton scored 77 which meant they were joint third.

Guy Hobbs, the editor of Which? Travel said: “This year we’ve witnessed unprecedented chaos at many of the UK’s largest airports... with resources pushed to breaking point.”
