Former Sevilla manager Marcelino, who snubbed Nottingham Forest, is reportedly on a shortlist to become Luis Enrique's successor as Spain coach if he decides to leave his post.
Spain were knocked out of the World Cup last 16 by Morocco, who reached the quarter finals for the first time in their history, in a shock defeat. Enrique's side drew 0-0 in regular time before losing 3-0 on penalties.
Following the game, the Spain coach has now decided to take a few days to make a decision over his future. Amid uncertainty, the Spanish Football Federation are said to be exploring alternatives.

Marcelino, Roberto Martinez and Luis de la Fuente are among the potential candidates to take over. The 57-year-old 'turned down' Forest's approach to succeed Cooper in October, as well as Wolves. Reports claimed he was waiting for the Spain job to become available.
Marca journalist Pedro Morata, previously said: "As far as I have absolutely confirmed, Marcelino turned down the possibility of coaching Brighton and Nottingham Forest.
"He wants to be the Spain coach. Marcelino is certainly one of those who is sure to be on the shortlist of the Royal Spanish Federation."
Enrique has been in charge of Spain since 2019 after taking over from Fernando Hierro.
