Sheffield United will not be recalling Max Lowe from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
The Blades defender joined Forest in the summer and will continue his loan until the end of the Championship campaign.
Lowe is enjoying life on Trentside under Steve Cooper, making 14 outings and netting once while providing two assists.
The 24-year-old is rated as one of the best performing defenders in the Championship and has enjoyed a revival to his career after falling down the pecking order at Bramall Lane.
He was recently, however, been out of action with a groin injury he picked up in November, but was back in Cooper's squad in their 2-1 win over his former club Derby County in the East Midlands derby.
Many Forest fans feared that boss Paul Heckingbottom would recall the defender back during the January transfer window.
But he told YorkshireLive: "Max's date has passed, so he'll be staying there.
"There was no plan to, but if we had injuries we would have done it but Max was not fit at that point anyway.
"I watched his first game back against Derby the other day, so he's back after his groin injury and it's done him the world of good when I spoke with him.
"He's enjoying it, back playing football, playing with a lot more confidence and he's definitely benefiting from being out there.
"In the building we have got Enda [Stevens] and Rhys [Norrington-Davies] and Rhys is benefiting from that exposure as well.
"Everyone benefits from him being there at the minute.
"If we had brought him back we would have still needed to have put one of the others out."
