Manager desperate to keep 'exceptional' Celtic target Rojas despite transfer bids

Celtic target Andy Rojas' manager has revealed he is desperate for his club Herediano to keep him.

The exciting Costa Rica forward has returned to his club after playing for his country in the Copa America and will play in the Costa Rican Super Cup Final against Deportivo Saprissa tonight.

Celtic are one of several European clubs credited with an interest in the 18-year-old, who has been valued at £900,000.

This week, the club's vice-president Aquil Al revealed that clubs in Belgium and Spain had enquired about Rojas and they had an offer from an unnamed club in Portugal which had been rejected.

And Herediano boss Walter Centeno admits he is desperate to keep his talent.

He said: "I am delighted that Andy is now back with the group.

"I have been told if there is not a suitable offer acceptable to the club, then Andy will be staying with us.

"And I certainly hope that happens.

"He is an exceptional kid. Of course, he is just starting up in his career, but he is a huge talent.

"What I like about him is that he takes responsibility at a young age. He is going to have a big career."
