Police are hunting a man with mirrored sunglasses after a pharmacy was robbed earlier today.
Cops descended on the Boots in Irvine's Lower Vennel at around 2.25pm after the assailant threated staff.
Officers have confirmed this evening that nobody was injured but staff were left shaken.
Detective Constable Craig McDonald of Saltcoats CID said: “We are keen to trace a man described as 5ft 6 inches tall, of thin build and dark hair. He wore a hooded top, mirrored sunglasses, a black jacket, and a blue surgical mask.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1889 of March 16, 2023.”
