A man who claims to be ''over the moon'' after he won a £35k sports car has been slammed for being "ungrateful". Online trolls blasted Jordan Billington, from Preston, after he appeared to look miserable in photos next to his flash motor.
The 35-year-old had previously spent over £5,000 on raffle tickets to win luxurious cars over the last two years, so he was ecstatic when he discovered he had finally won. However, trolls on Facebook were not convinced by the man's supposed joy after he shared a picture of himself beside his brand new Audi R8 prize.
Jordan bagged the expensive vehicle from Click Competitions who are a company that run raffles which allow customers to enter competitions to win themselves a lump sum of cash or a new fancy car, the Mirror reports. But Facebook users claim he looked much more miserable than expected, despite his recent dream win.
Click Competitions shared the snap of their apparently delighted winner but some people were quick to leave critical comments regarding Jordan's body language. The post read: "CONGRATULATIONS TO JORDAN BILLINGTON. Jordan had a nightmare on his travels down to collect the car, a complete tyre blowout! He made it here in the end with all his family, and they were all absolutely buzzing! I'm sure he will make up for lost time driving the R8 home."
Despite Click Competitions claiming Jordan was delighted, their post gained a lot of negative attention - with many disagreeing that the winner was "buzzing.
One comment read: "I'd sell that straight away... looks like he's been given a tenner to stand near it." While another said: "Ya think he would have a smile at least."
But Jordan has since confirmed his excitement over winning and is very aware of the negative reaction to his photo. He explained: "People look at the photo and think I'm miserable and not happy but it couldn't be any further away from the truth.
''When I found out I won I was just speechless and I thought someone was pulling my leg. I was smiling on the phone, never mind when I picked it up. I was driving home in it just shouting 'yes' at the top of my voice. I was buzzing."
Commenting on the viral social post, he added: "The hate is unreal. Never knew winning a car would make so many people bitter and leave nasty comments. Thanks to everybody who congratulated me.
"I'm over the moon with the win everyone. I might not have looked it in the picture but it took us nearly 10 hours to get there and was knackered back safely with the car. It's an absolute beast, you have to be in it to win it, get your tickets before they sell out people."
