- Sharaz Ali has been given a whole life prison order for murdering Bryonie Gawith and her three young children, Denisty, Oscar, and Aubree Birtle, by setting fire to their home in Bradford.
- Ali's motive was to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend, Antonia Gawith, Bryonie's sister, after she ended their abusive seven-year relationship; Antonia managed to escape the blaze.
- The court heard that Bryonie Gawith showed immense courage, staying with her children upstairs to protect them despite knowing Ali was pouring petrol around the house.
- Calum Sunderland, 26, who accompanied Ali and kicked the door in, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 18 years for manslaughter.
- Antonia Gawith expressed her torment, stating that the attack was meant for her and that she is haunted by the fact her sister and nieces and nephew died because someone wanted to kill her.
