A man who presented himself as a Native American activist has been sentenced to 46 years in prison for drugging and raping women. The case has inspired calls for changes to Washington state law, aiming to prohibit defendants who represent themselves from directly questioning their accusers.

Redwolf Pope, who maintained apartments in Seattle and Santa Fe, New Mexico, was arrested in 2018. His apprehension occurred after guests at his Seattle apartment provided police with videos from his iPad. These recordings depicted him sexually assaulting several women who appeared to be unconscious, according to court documents. Furthermore, police discovered a secret camera in Pope's bathroom, which had been used to capture footage of women in the shower.
