A MAN who died following a motorcycle crash in Glasgow has been named by police as investigations continue.

The single vehicle crash happened on Springburn Road at around 4.35am on Tuesday June 16.

Police said that Steven Carlton, the 47-year-old man riding the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for information about the incident, which involved a Honda CMX 500 motorcycle.

Sergeant Chris McColm of Glasgow Road Policing said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“We will continue to liaise with them as our inquiries progress.

“Given the time of the crash, we know the road wasn’t particularly busy, but I’m appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or saw the motorcycle beforehand, to come forward.

“If anyone has private CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area around the time, please review this and bring anything you think could be significant to our attention.”

Police said Mr Carlton was from the Springburn area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0377 of Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
