Man who arranged disastrous pizza delivery gangland hit is jailed for 26 years

A man who arranged a gangland hit which went catastrophically wrong has been jailed. In the bungled attack a gunman, posing as a pizza delivery driver, shot a relative of the target by mistake.

The innocent victim suffered horrific injuries after being blasted on his own doorstep by Aaron Bretherton. The gunman had been driven to the house by Lewis Fitzpatrick on the evening of Friday, April 24 2020, who waited in a van while Bretherton fired three rounds at the 56-year-old victim, causing life-changing injuries to the victim's leg.

Bretherton, aged 25, then ran back to the van and Anthony Morris, 24, drove him and Fitzpatrick away from the scene. In the hours leading up to the attack, Fitzpatrick was seen travelling with Bretherton to Poplars Avenue in Orford, Warrington, to carry out a recce on the property.
